Qoovio FAQ
Practical answers about DJ set planning, live suggestions, compatible DJ software, library organisation, licences and support.
Using Qoovio
What does Qoovio do?
Qoovio works alongside Serato DJ Pro and Rekordbox. When you load a track to a deck, it suggests compatible next tracks from your own DJ library using BPM, Camelot key, energy and the crates or playlists you choose. You can also use Set Planning to build an editable route before a set, then preview, refine and export it to your DJ software.
Does Qoovio work with both Serato and Rekordbox?
Yes. Qoovio reads Serato crates and Rekordbox playlists, then uses the library you have selected in Qoovio to provide suggestions. Open the DJ software before opening Qoovio for the most reliable connection.
Which Serato and Rekordbox versions are recommended?
Use the latest stable version supplied by Serato or AlphaTheta. As of August 2026, we recommend Serato DJ Pro 4.0.9 and Rekordbox 7.2.18, or a newer stable release. Keeping your DJ software current helps with reliability and hardware compatibility.
Which computers can run Qoovio?
Qoovio supports 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers, plus Macs with Apple Silicon. Keep macOS or Windows, Qoovio and your DJ software up to date before contacting support.
Your DJ library
Why is crate and playlist organisation important?
Qoovio recommends tracks from the crates and playlists you have already organised in your own DJ library. It does not supply music or search an external catalogue. Clear crates or playlists by genre, mood, energy, era or set type give Qoovio better source material and let you steer the suggestions with confidence.
Can I choose which tracks Qoovio recommends from?
Yes. Choose All Crates or All Playlists to search broadly, or select one or more specific crates or playlists. For example, if you are playing classic house and want to move toward funky house, select your funky house crate and Qoovio will only propose tracks from the sources you selected.
Why does Qoovio show tracks but say none are available?
Your DJ software may still know about the tracks, but their saved file paths no longer point to files on your computer. This can happen after moving music, disconnecting an external drive, or changing cloud-storage settings. Check that the music is available locally, then contact support if you need help.
Why are some tracks missing from suggestions?
Qoovio only suggests tracks it can locate and read from the selected crates or playlists. Check that the track is in the selected source, the music file is available, and BPM, key and energy information is present in your DJ library.
Suggestions and loading
How are suggestions ranked?
Score gives the strongest overall match, balancing BPM, harmonic key and energy. The BPM, Key and Energy tabs prioritise that particular factor while still considering the others. Use the sort that best suits the transition you want to make.
What does a crate name followed by +1 or +2 mean?
The named crate is the main crate displayed for that suggested track. The number means the track is also in one or more additional crates. Hover over the crate label in Qoovio to see the full list.
Can I load a suggested track directly to a deck?
Yes. Use the 1 or 2 button beside a suggestion to send it to Deck 1 or Deck 2. You remain in control of the final choice and when to make the transition.
Qoovio is slow or does not react when I load a track. What should I check?
First, confirm that the track loads normally in Serato or Rekordbox, that the app is open, and that your music files are locally available. On Windows, also check that security software has not blocked Qoovio. On macOS, confirm that Qoovio has been allowed in Privacy & Security > Accessibility. If the issue continues, contact support with a screenshot of the app while the issue is happening.
Nothing happens when I use Qoovio on my Mac. What should I do?
Qoovio needs macOS Accessibility permission so it can interact with Serato or Rekordbox. On first launch, Qoovio should guide you to enable this permission. If it was missed, open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility, enable Qoovio, then close and reopen Qoovio and your DJ software. Watch the manual macOS Accessibility setup video for the exact steps.
Set Planning
What is Set Planning?
Set Planning creates an editable draft running order from the crates or playlists you choose. Pick a starting track, then let Qoovio build a route using BPM, harmonic key and energy so you have a practical starting point before a set.
Can I include tracks I definitely want to play?
Yes. Add one or more must-have tracks and Qoovio will build the route around them. You can also choose an optional end track when you want the set to finish on a particular record.
Should I plan by duration or number of tracks?
Use duration when you have a rough set length in mind, or choose a number of tracks when that is more useful. Duration is the combined running time of the selected tracks; because DJs overlap tracks while mixing, the finished live set will usually be shorter.
Can I change a track in a planned set?
Yes. Preview a planned track, open its compatible alternatives, and replace it with a different option. For more control, use Fine-tune to adjust the BPM, key or energy route and rebuild the plan.
Can I export a planned set to Serato or Rekordbox?
Yes. Give the plan a name, then export it when you are happy with the route. Qoovio creates a Serato crate, or saves a Rekordbox-ready playlist file that you can import into Rekordbox.
